As COVID-19 strains healthcare resources globally, it is more important than ever to help people stay healthy and out of a stressed healthcare system. We are prioritizing the continued production of high-demand products to maintain supply, all while ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.

USE AS DIRECTED

There have been consumer questions around the effectiveness of PEPCID® to treat or prevent COVID-19. The health and safety of our consumers is paramount. Here are some frequently asked questions with answers from the makers of PEPCID®.

PEPCID® is not indicated for the treatment or prevention of COVID-19 PEPCID® is a histamine-2 blocker with the active ingredient famotidine.

PEPCID® is indicated to relieve or prevent heartburn associated with acid indigestion and sour stomach brought on by eating or drinking certain food and beverages.

In case of overdose, get medical help or contact your local Poison Control Centre right away.

Remember to always read and follow the product label. PEPCID® is indicated to relieve or prevent heartburn associated with acid indigestion and sour stomach brought on by eating or drinking certain food and beverages. If you do not have these these conditions, you should not take PEPCID®.

We are experiencing increased consumer-driven demand for PEPCID® and supply is temporarily out of stock in some stores and online. We are taking all possible measures to maximize product availability in a timely and quality-based manner.

Famotidine is the active ingredient in PEPCID® and is a histamine-2 blocker. Famotidine works by decreasing the amount of acid the stomach produces.
